Sericulture experiences a boom in UP’s Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 16 (ANI): Farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur are earning their livelihood through sericulture. Sericulture is understood as silk farming or rearing of silkworms. Families around Kushmi forest are benefitting from this trade. Each silk insect works 4 to 5 hours per day which earns between Rs 10 and 12 thousand. The worms are fed mulberry leaves which helps produce the silk yarns. Merchants of many states, including West Bengal, and the Center purchase it.
