Updated:7 months, 2 weeks ago IST

Kanpur (UP), Jul 06 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh will ban the use of plastic in the state from July 15, as revealed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. "We have decided to come out with a notification to ban the use of plastic in the state. I urge the people to stop using plastic cups, glass, and polythene after July 15," said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Meanwhile, shopkeepers in the state are worried that many may lose their jobs. “We support the movement, but I fear many will become unemployed,” one of the shopkeepers told ANI. “By banning plastic, it will also harm the environment. Then you will pass orders to use paper bags. From where do we get paper? Trees right? The reduction of trees will also be harmful for the environment,” said another shopkeeper.
