Thousands of people participate in traditional buffalo race competition ‘Kambala’ in Mangaluru

Mangaluru (Karnataka), Feb 10 (ANI): Thousands of people have participated in the annual buffalo race competition ‘Jaya Vijaya kambala’ in Mangaluru. The two day event kick started on February 08. It was organised on the bank of Netravati River where at least 120 buffalo across Karnataka participated in the event. ‘Jaya Vijaya kambala’ is traditionally rich, agriculture related race competition of Tulu Nadu (Coastal Karnataka) which dates back to the historical significance of the region. A race competition was taken place spearheaded by buffalos. It is also a part of entertainment for the local inhabitants during their leisure time. ‘Jaya Vijaya kambala’ event was organised for two consecutive days and one night. Around six thousand villagers participated in the event.
