Unidentified person opens fire at JNU student Umar Khalid

New Delhi, Aug 13 (ANI): An unidentified man opened fire at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid outside the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Monday afternoon. Khalid remained unhurt. The student activist had arrived at the club to attend an event named ‘Towards a Freedom Without Fear’, when the incident happened. An eyewitness said, “There was an event, Umar Khalid accompanied us. We were at a tea stall when a man in white shirt came, pushed and opened fire at him. Khalid lost his balance, fell down and bullet missed him. We tried to catch the man. He fired aerial shots, pistol slipped off his hands, and he fled.” The shooter managed to escape but dropped his gun at the spot.
