US, human rights groups urge Google, Apple to remove app that tracks women’s travel

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Senator of the United States and human rights groups urged Google to get rid of Saudi-based app that tracks women while they are travelling. Absher application present on Google’s Play Store and Apple claims to be an application for security of family members. The e-governance app enables users to process issues such as vehicle registration, getting passport apart from tracking their wives. The senate in a letter asked tech giants to remove the app or restrict users to take control of women. The official website of Absher says that there are over 11 million users of the application.
