Villagers in Shamli suffers from contaminated water used by meat plant

Shamli (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 29 (ANI): Shamli's Panjeeth is allegedly deprived of clean drinking water. Locals allege that contaminated water coming from Kairana has caused diseases like Kala pilia, cancer, tuberculosis among others which has caused deaths. They claim that the water is used by a meat plant and this water enters to ground level. Shamli’s District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh said, “Officials have been directed to test water and investigate whether the diseases are due to contaminated water. A medical camp has been set up.”
