Watch: ISRO launches IRNSS-1I navigation satellite aboard the PSLV-C41

Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 12 (ANI): The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched IRNSS-1I navigation satellite aboard the PSLV-C41 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at the Sriharikota High Altitude Range. It is the 8th satellite to join ISRO’s constellation of navigation satellites. The launch comes two weeks after ISRO’s launch of GSAT-6A satellite. The rocket weights 321 ton and stands 44.4 meter tall. IRNSS-1I is expected to reach the orbit in approximately 19 minutes. The aim behind the launch of IRNSS is to create India’s own navigation system similar to Global Positioning System.
