New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed Congress leader Shashi Tharoor over his latest tweet saying “Hindutva ideology is dividing our country”. Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “This “Hindi, Hindu, Hindutva” ideology is dividing our country. We need unity, not uniformity”. Tharoor was responding to a tweet referring to an incident in Mumbai where an immigration officer refused to allow an Indian student to pass through because he could not speak Hindi. While explaining his tweet, Tharoor said, “Hindtuva is not Hinduism. Hindutva is a political doctrine. Hindutva seeks to divide people on the basis of communal identity. My tweet was in reaction to one of the students from Tamil Nadu was not allowed to go through immigration as he didn’t speak Hindi. I said that we need unity and not uniformity”.
