What’s the problem with Vande Mataram: Shivraj Chouhan

Updated:1 month, 2 weeks ago IST

New Delhi, Jan 03 (ANI): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday expressed his opinion on Congress’ decision that it was not compulsory to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ in the MP secretariat on the first day of every month. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “It is very unfortunate. It is understood that they can change all decisions, but what problem do they have with Vande Mataram. On whose instruction are they acting on? They are saying that Vande Mataram will be sung in a different form. What does this mean? Is there a different form of Vande Mataram also?” The recently elected Congress government in the state had asserted that singing ‘Vande Mataram’ for a day was not a barometer of patriotism. Shivraj Singh Chouhan had earlier slammed Congress for ending the 14-year-old tradition. He even said that all BJP MLAs will sing the national song on January 07.
