Srinagar (J&K), Jul 08 (ANI): Heavy windstorm uprooted iconic Chinar trees in the picturesque Shalimar Garden in Kashmir. Some of the uprooted trees were over 300 years old while others were two-three decades old. The authorities have deployed men and machinery to clear the remains of the trees. The Chinar trees, which are synonymous with the landscape of Kashmir, have been dwindling in numbers in the recent years due to the need for the wood from the trees.
