Withdrawal of security to Kashmiri separatist leaders is regressive step: Omar Abdullah

Updated:1 month ago IST

Srinagar, Feb 21(ANI): National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah today slammed the government at the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir government for withdrawing the security of separatist leaders and called it a regressive step. Abdullah said, “My concern goes beyond separatist security withdrawal, my concern is about the withdrawal of security to mainstream political operators. On one hand, you’re telling us that we have to be prepared for Parliament and assembly elections; on the other hand, you're telling us that we no longer deserve the protection of the state. I believe that the withdrawal of security to mainstream political workers and office bearers is hugely regressive step. The governor’s administration should revisit and review it as I don’t think the intelligence agencies and security agencies would have supported such a decision.”
