Germany to restore ‘Oont Kadal’ bridge in Kashmir

Srinagar (J&K), Oct 03 (ANI): Germany’s deputy ambassador to India and officials of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) for the restoration of the 17th-century ‘Oont Kadal’ (camel-hump bridge) on the famous Dal lake. The ‘Oont Kadal’ or the camel-hump bridge is a stone masonry bridge which was built in late 1670s under the Mughal regime. The bridge is an important part of the city’s tourist spot Nishat Bagh, and Dal Lake. ‘Oont Kadal’ is also a part of the province’s Zabarwan Mountain range.
