I hugged PM Modi to tell him the world is not a bad place: Rahul Gandhi in Hamburg

Hamburg (Germany), Aug 23 (ANI): Congress President Rahul Gandhi while addressing a gathering at Kampnagel Theater, Bucerius Summer School in Hamburg, Germany said that he was showing affection to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by hugging him to show that the world is not such a bad place. On being asked about hugging PM Modi during No-Confidence motion in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said, “Non-violence in India is a founding philosophy of our nationhood and essence of being an Indian. PM was making hateful remarks at me, so I felt the need to tell him that world is not all evil. I gave him a hug, I showed affection, and he was taken aback.” He added, “Even some of them (my Party members) didn't like it and I disagreed with them.” Congress President Rahul Gandhi is in Germany as part of the Congress’s NRI outreach programme. Gandhi is on a four-day tour of the Europe. Rahul Gandhi will address the Indian Overseas Congress in Berlin on August 23. In Germany, Rahul Gandhi is also likely to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Rahul will visit the United Kingdom next.
