India committed to increase National Knowledge Network among BIMSTEC nations: PM Modi

Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended the inaugural session of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “In the sector of digital connectivity, India is committed to increase its National Knowledge Network in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.” PM Modi is on his two-day visit to Nepal to attend the BIMSTEC Summit. He met with the Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari upon arrival. BIMSTEC leaders including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Nepal PM KP Oli were also present during the meeting. The theme of the summit is ‘Towards a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable Bay of Bengal region’. The regional group of seven countries which lies near the Bay of Bengal- Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand- are participating in the summit.
