New Delhi, Aug 24 (ANI): Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been granted special permission to meet his family members in the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Friday. Sharif's family had filed a plea to meet the jailed leader and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, in the prison. Subsequently, the prison authorities gave permission and apprised the jail superintendent of the same. The father-daughter duo is currently serving their prison sentences in the same jail after being convicted in the Avenfield reference case. Earlier on Wednesday, Sharif's brother and Pakistan Muslim-League (Nawaz) president Shehbaz Sharif and his family met the father-daughter duo in Adiala jail. On July 6, Sharif and Maryam were convicted in absentia in the Avenfield case by the Accountability Court. While the three-time Pakistan prime minister was given 10 years of imprisonment and slapped with a fine of eight million pounds, his daughter was awarded eight years in jail and fined two million pounds.
