Pashtuns hold anti-ISI, anti-Army protests for killing Pashtun police officer

Updated:3 weeks, 3 days ago IST

Peshawar (Pakistan), Nov 16 (ANI): Pashtuns in Pakistan chanted slogans against the Pakistan Army and Inter-Services Intelligence for brutally killing Tahir Dawar, a Pashtun police officer. A large number of people came out on the streets at various cities and towns, including capital Peshawar, to condemn kidnapping and target killing of a Pashtun. Tahir was gone missing in Islamabad about two weeks ago and his dead body was found in Afghanistan at the international border. Taliban denied any role in killing. Pashtoons believe that ISI kidnapped Tahir and killed him because he killed Taliban operatives in operations against terrorism and was sympathetic to demands for return of thousands of missing Pathtuns. Superintendent Tahir Dawar was head of Peshawar police’s rural area circle. He survived two suicide attacks by terrorists. Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pansteen met the brother of the slain police officer in Peshawar and expended full support to the grieved family to raise voice against the brutal murder.
