Gilgit-Baltistan(POK), Jul 29 (ANI): Hundreds of people in Gilgit Baltistan took to the streets of Ghizer town on Sunday morning, denouncing the flagrant violation of Anti- Terrorism Act by Islamabad. Local leaders accuse Islamabad of using the Act as a tool of extra-judicial killing and repression, and orchestrating similar circumstances to what it has done previously in Balochistan and Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA). Shafqat Inqlabi, Karakoram National Movement leader accused Islamabad of designing “schedule IV to instill a sense of fear in us,” while addressing to the hundreds of people gathered to protest the Anti-Terrorism Act. Another nationalist leader calling the updated fourth schedule of Pakistan as “atrocious” said, “Names of peaceful citizens have been placed under the Fourth schedule of the Act; some are businessmen and others are teachers.” He further added, “If establishment doesn’t want this then we’ll be forced to choose a different path.”
