Theresa May assures “getting best deal for Britain” amid cabinet resignations

Updated:3 weeks, 5 days ago IST

New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): British Prime Minister Theresa May exhibited a strong front at a recently held presser at her Downing Street residence, despite crumbling support for her Brexit draft. It hadn’t even been 12 hours since May’s announcement that her cabinet was in agreement to the terms of the deal that Brexit Minister Dominic Raab along with Work and Pensions Minister Esther McVey resigned. Answering questions addressing the challenge to her position, she replied, “Am I going to see this through? Yes.” Hostility from within the government and from opposition lawmakers might prove otherwise for May’s draft. Without numbers the deal is likely to be rejected in Parliament. However, not letting resigning ministers get in the way of her determination to stay the course, May assured that, “I am going to do my job of getting the best deal for Britain.” A failure in reaching consensus could mean a “no-deal Brexit”, which leads to an uncertain future for Britain.
